Andrew Radin of Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) was asking me about coming up with a good idea for regularly recycling plastic potting containers that are left over from all the plantings this season. One persons suggested maybe our individual groups could collect them like we used to for cans before there was a deposit on them. Possibly come up with a way to redistribute them, as they are not recyclable plastic. One person told me Phoenix Flower Farm used to give a few cents a piece for returned plastic pots. A couple good ideas as well as just reusing them ourselves; but I dont have enough room to reuse all the plastic pots I have. Some are big enough for transplants, and the smallest ones are good for starting flowers too. |
