71 Super Rat
I have a 71 Super Rat with frame # B-53390 and an engine # F-2517. I was told the engine code isnt valid but it doesnt look like its been altered. Any help? |

If you go to the strictlyhodaka website and click on "Hodaka Identification" you can confirm the heritage of your scooter by the frame and engine serial numbers. I've done that, and your frame is a Model 93A Super Rat . . . but no Hodaka engine is listed as having an "F" pre-fix for the engine serial number. I'm guessing you have a Fuji engine -- which looks a lot like a Hodaka engine. If the engine is Hodaka, it will have ACE 100 or Hodaka molded into the side covers. If it is a Fuji, it will have a stylized "F" molded into the side covers. Ed |

Hello, I was surfing around looking for answers and found this post.... I also have a Rickman with a Hodaka engine that has an F number. It is definitely a Hodaka engine as Hodaka is on the covers, but the engine number is F2421. Its not a worn off E, it is definitely an F. I am also looking for info on this type of engine incase I need to get parts for it. Anyone out there have any insight????? Thanks, Sheri |

sheri, yahoo has a hodaka group that has several members who also have rickmans and have been discussing about models and parts, you might also check with jeanette at ek hodaka or paul at strictly hodaka as they both have the no#s ids and parts for the bikes doug |
