identifying year of Ace 90
I recently bought an Ace 90 from an estate sale. It had been parked in a barn since the 70's and is in good condition. I was wondering if anyone knew how to tell what year this bike was made. The gas tank and frame are all black, however, I am unsure as to if this is the original color. I was also wondering if anyone knew the specs for the battery that this bike uses. Thank You. |

My best guess is production sometime between 1964 and about 1968. The folks at strictlyhodaka.com may be able to nail it down closer than that if you provide them with the frame and engine serial numbers. Note that the Strictly Hodaka web-site has a section on identifying what model of Hodaka you have. The ACE 90's had red frames and some of the best, smoothest, shiniest chrome tanks you ever saw from the factory. So the one you have has seen some changes. According to the ACE 90 Official Workshop Manual, the battery is a 6 volt, 4 ampere hour, 3 cell, visible level, GS MV2-6 unit. Ed PS: Have fun "playing" with the ol' scooter.
