complications...
First thing this morning, I turned on the old PC to continue work on the book, and the monitor crackled, sputtered, and died. After an initial two-minute freakout, I got a friend in the building to let me use his computer to email a copy of ch. 19 to myself (my Powerbook G3 doesn't have USB; I keep my latest chapter on a memory stick). Anyway, I'm on my laptop right now and the writing continues. I still need a replacement monitor for the PC - my podcast production gear is on the desktop, and without that going, the latest chapter or the next "Sundown Lounge" will be stalled this week. Well, it could be worse... |

The clock says 8:30am, I'm waiting for a monitor to be delivered this morning so I can get back to production, but the writing is going well on the Powerbook. The keys are so silent as you type... I don't intend this episode being longer than 25 minutes, so I'm about ready to go with the chapter. More later. |

Ok, it's a little before 11am, I got the monitor about 20 minutes ago. It's 17 in. but the screen is a little dark - old monitors get like that. Anyway, it should be good for a year... |
