Welcome to the New Bush Board
I felt the Cork Board system was not working well. So we will try this forum system until my server is compatible with PHP or mySQL. So use and enjoy! DJ |

Hi There ! This looks like a good site to chat with old friends. I was in the 36th Armament and Electronics Sqdn working on Fire Control Systems on F-105s from April 1963 thru April 1966. They were some of the best years of my life. I lived in the end room in the barracks right in front of the NCO club and the gate to the housing area. We worked on the flight line and our shop was on one side of hangar 401. It was sometimes called the pool because they had us paint it a two tone interior. White on top and a really sickening turquoise blue on the bottom 4 feet of the walls. I remember trudging down to the shop in the middle of the noight for alerts, while they played "who's sorry now?" or "Tears on my pillow" over the PA system. (there were some wierd puppies there then.) I worked afternoons and really enjoyed midnight chow. The mess hall won the Hennesy trophy fof best food service in USAFE for several years. I even enjoyed the KP at the Victor Alert area. There were always a lot of goodies and you could snack all day. Spent many great weekends at the Casino Bar and Florida Bar as well as several others I can't remember. The bar fights were fun to watch. I remember seeing "Luxembourg Jeannie" ( the madam with a traveling stable of girls) punch out two airmen in one night. It was no contest, she was tough. Had a lot of great times at base football games and in the beer tent at the base Oktoberfest. Does anyone else remember the drunk tent where they laid out anyone who over drank and passed out. Well I gotta go for now .Would love to hear anyone elses memories of a grest place to serve. Bitburg Uber Alles!! Sam Deckard |

DJ, have you ever tried Snitz Forums? They're in use at several of the boards I visit and are very nice. http://forum.snitz.com/ You don't require registration to post? Interesting. Anyway, good luck with a great site. Bitte ein bit! 36SPS, '68-'71, "D" Flt Security |

I'll look into those "snitz" forums. Yes, as of now we do not require passwords or sign-in. That will change once we develop a more permanent bulletin board system. Once that is done, I will contact via email all those who have signed into the roll call and issue them a password. That is the plan at present unless you have a suggestion. We are always looking for a better way to do things around here. DJ |

Great site so far. I am looking forward to the subdomains coming on-line. I was stationed at Hahn, but visited Bitburg many times. I had friends there and you also had a better BX. Best of luck in developing your site. |

The subdomains should be up soon. I'm just trying to create some interesting graphics so each subdomain has some of it's own "flavor." Regarding Zweibrucken...it will be included. Right now I have 4 major subdomains partially setup. They are based on the major installations in the Rhineland-Palatinate (or Rheinland-Pfalz for those who speak German): Bitburg, Hahn, Spangdahlem, and Ramstein. Only Bitburg, Prum, and Spang are actually Eifel bases, the other bases are in parts of the Moezel-Saar, Hunsruck, Pfalz, and Rijn-Hessen regions of the Rheinland-Pfalz. I have elected to expand the website to reach a somewhat larger audience, plus a lot of us were stationed multiple times in Germany and I wanted to bring those folks together and try to centralize the web content so they could find everything USAFE Germany in a single place. There will also be a page set aside for non-German USAFE bases, but it will be strictly for links to other websites. Smaller USAFE installations in Germany will be grouped with the nearest large installation. Examples: Morbach content will be on the Hahn pages. Sembach content will be on the Ramstein pages. Prum content will be on the Bitburg pages. (I believe Prum is about equi-distant driving-wise from either Bitburg or Spang, but as the crow flies I think it's closer to Bitburg.) Content will reflect the majority of those who participate and contribute material, but all will be represented as much as possible. In each subdomain there will be separate Roll Call pages and Links pages to start. Later I will add separate gallery pages and maybe discussion boards. For now I will stick with a single discussion board so I do not take away from other websites that are heavily invested in their discussion boards. I will be updating this board though so it resides on my site rather than off-site, and it will probably require registration with log-ins and passwords. Well, that's about it for now. take care, DJ |
