Steel Guantlets = Usable?

I was looking at the Etched Steel Gauntlets at the site, and while I wanted to purchase them, I saw a similar set on another website stating that they are strictly for display.

So can I use them for combat, or even just wear them for show?

Re: Steel Guantlets = Usable?

Outside the question of flexability is the question of thickness. For any SCA events it must be at least 16 gauge or thicker (Lower numbers are thicker, 16 guage and 14 gauge are the popular sizes). For LARPing 18 gauge will do. I'm not sure of this gauntlet's thickness because I didn't look at them, but it is something for you to take into consideration.
