Hello. Are u a boy, or a girl?!!! :)I am a "swordsman" for 6 years, i learned kendo and i improved my skills by using a double bladed sword. The most important thing that u must know about swords is that they are NOT toys. There are differend kind of swords:one-handed, two-handed,single or double bladed etc. Each type of sword requires differend type of use, for example, the tai-chi and the katana. From my experience i would advise u to buy a very simple katana, or a tai-chi and practice alone before u take a martial art lessons.i must tell u that the katana is a 2-handed and the tai-chi an one-handed sword,so u understand that u must choose ur fighting "style".i suggest u to watch enough movies with swords, so u can see the moves and the tricks of the swordsmen.u can also freely send me an e-mail, if u want to ask me smth.Good luck!

I would suggest ewither a katana (as aforementioned before me) or a shorter weapon, such as a gladius, to get the hang of using bladed weapons, as they are both very easy to use, althoguh the katan is much more dificult to master, Also I might suggest reading the Legend of Drizzt, alot of the techniques and such used in the book are real and can be applied to a learnign basis. Either way, good luck and don't give up. |
