Medicine Head on Napster
Just noticed that Napster (www.napster.co.uk/com) - the LEGAL entity where you pay a modest monthly fee to listen to loads of stuff and a bit more to download and save on iPod etc - has recently added some good Medicine Head content. Albums include Don't Stop the Dance, Life Too has Surface Noise, Live at the Marquee, New Bottles Old Medicine and Two Man Band. There's also a British Lions album, Live & Rare and JF's Big Buffalo album. No Box of Frogs though. Heard Leila Safka and Medicine Head's version of One and One is One for first time today! Not sure if Janice Joplin v Medicine Head is related to the current context - but it's a fun mix regardless! Clearly there's still some important stuff missing - but maybe that will appear in due course and help spread the word. Fiddler's Anthology should certainly be there prominently as we all know it's great. No-one I've played it to for the first time hasn't commented on what a fine piece of work it is... Hope that JF is seeing some return for this as I'm paying Napster to listen to it so some of the cash should filter through somewhere... I do have most of the albums anyway but you sort of get into the habit of listening on line wherever you are. John - come back to the UK and play soon, please... |

Jeremy!! Very interesting posting, thank you. I think Peter Purnell and Angel Air are doing such a good job for us "Classic" artists. and no doubt he is instrumental in the arrival of all these downloads. I'm very curious about Leila Safka and One and One is One. I've never heard of it, or been informed by publishing company, so I'll have to seek that one out. Please contact me again if you have any more information. Meanwhile Jeremy, check out Stillgigging.com, a very interesting site for all music lovers!!! Peace to you, John. |
