No supervision at La Petite TX
November 2006 my 2 yr old son came home with a bruise from above his eye all the way down the side of his face. La Petite didn't write up an incident report and had no idea how it happened. At that time there were very aggressive children in the room. Result they moved my son out to the 3yr room. Things were fine for a year. Then they they hired 2 people who shouldn't be in childcare. I can't even call them care givers because that would mean that they care for the children. During their second lice outbreak from Jan to March these 2 decided to put the children's coats on top of each other. When I brought it to their attention they told me to take it up with the director. The director told me that she had told them to move the coats but they dismissed what she had to say. When I told them to keep my child's belongings separated from the other children's stuff, I was told that it's a daycare that children's stuff would come into contact with other's stuff. One popped off with "that's why you are were to take home your kid's stuff and wash it." I responded that I did wash his things. Lot of good that will do when adults are purposely stacking jackets on top of one another. When I went to complain to the director about how I was being spoken to one of them came and interupted my conversation with her. She was written up & sent home. Fast forward, since that incident didn't feel comfortable with my child being put with the 2 and requested La Petite not to put him with them. They continued to do so. I have repeatedly witnessed these 2 having lengthy conversations and not watching the kids. I witnesses one text messaging for over 5 minutes while a child climbed up the fence let go and fall on another child. This happened at least 4 times. She didn't even see it cause she was too busy texting. I reported what I saw over and over again. La Petite did nothing to fix the problem other than tell them that they can't be next to each other. I kept my kids there only because school lets out within 2 months. Yesterday, they did the same thing as every day talking together. They were doing that when I first arrived to pick up the kids. I didn't say anything just picked up the kids. I got kids in car and they were still talking. As I was driving away I got a call on my cell. I slowed down to get the phone out of my jeans. I looked their direction as I opened my phone. They were still talking. Today as I went to pick up my kids I was accussed of taking a picture of the workers and children and therefore my children were discharged effective immediately. They didn't even care what I had to say. If they had asked they would have found out that my phone doesn't flash. The workers told the director they were talking but not that long. The insubordinate workers who don't do their job are apparently more trustworthy than paying customers. They are still employed by La Petite with no writeups for their not watching the kids. If you want to pay good money for your kids to be not to be supervised, told off, then dismissed, unsanitary La Petite is the place for you. Front office went uncleaned for 2 months. |

Forgot to say after lice problem, and being disrespected by that one staff memeber, the director left for another job. Lack of supervision has increased since then. Assistant director was concerned if the staff was seated with backs to kids, which I witnessed several times. If you want to judge for yourself if La Petite is a good childcare facility please call Texas state daycare licensing. They have a lot of complaints against them as I have found out. In my opinion/experience the best daycare facilities are privately owned mom & pop centers. That's were my kids will be next. |

Hello i work at private center if we did that there we would get fred each child has there own cubbies for the stuff |
