Preschool Concern -- Help!

Hi all~ I have a 4 year old (born in October). She is in a preschool that I pay $100 a week for. This center is suposed to be AM cirriculm and PM day care. I only use the preschool part, but mostly the other kids are there all day.

My question/concern is: Today the teacher said that my child isn't writing her letters and numbers well. I know this, we are working on number and letter recognition. It's been a challenge with this child because my older child has always been very advanced and never had any qualms about learning. But my yougest works differently.

My concern is that the teacher is telling me to work with her, and I don't have a problem with that, but I do have a problem with paying a school to do this during the class time...

What kind of ciriculum should I expect here? The teacher said that most of the kids are writing all the letters, but don't recognize them, and my child is just writing her name, sometimes backwards, sometimes in circles... How do I feel better about this situation? I guess I don't feel that I am getting what I am paying for... I feel like the teacher doesn't have a set plan for teaching preschoolers. I don't know how to proceed. I mean, yeah I can work every night with my child to ensure that she learns her writing, but I feel that she doesn't need to be doing school work 8 hours a day...

well, I'd be happy to offer any more info to clarify my problem, I really just need to talk this out.
