Daycare issues
My 20 month old son attends daycare 2 days a week, he recently was moved up from infant to waddler's since we started the new room I have noticed that he doesn't appear to be as happy as he used to be there and they have had a tremendous turn over of staff and this concerns me. They don't give him his milk that I provide as he doesn't like regualr milk, most of the time when I pick him up it is still sitting in his bag. I have questioned it several times and never get a straight forward answer. And since attending there my son has been sick with everything under the son including RSV/Pneumonia. Am I just being paranoid? I am a new mom and am not sure what all to expect with day care. I have looked at another in home day care however she takes the kids out to pick up a couple preschoolers and I am not sure I want my child in a vehicle with anyone else. ANY Suggestions? |

Stacy, As far as your child not being as happy it might be from the change, give it some moretime for him to adjust and things still do not change talk to the director. Weere you happy woth the care when he was in the infant room. As far as them not giving him the milk you are providing that is unaccpetable, and if it is stioll continuing after you mentioned and then that is a big problem. I would talk to the director/owner about this and insist this not happen again. Not getting answer is unacceptable. However, be tactful and you get better results. If you don't it might be time to movve on. The turn over rate is high in daycares, unfortunately in the daycare world, this is normal, but reason being because they are not paid enough and many people take on the job not really knowing what they are getting themselves into. But try to work things out the best you can before pulling your child, because that would be yet another change for your child which is not much different than changes in staff at your current daycare. However, if quality of care or if your child happiness still does not change within a resoanble amount of time then it might be time for a change. |
