I am a mom and a school teacher and I recently won a national contest with a $200,000 cash reward. I used my winnings to develop a CD that teaches children math through music. It is called MathMosis. The music is happy, upbeat music that teaches children to count by multiples. Children then utilize the MathMosis multiplication and division strategy which aids in understanding and memorizing multiplication and division problems. Introducing counting by multiples at an early age enables children to gain strong number sense and gives children the edge needed to be successful in math.
As a mom and a teacher I know that multiplication and division is a difficult concept for children to learn. Math is a spiral curriculum where children need to master one concept before moving to the next. If children fall behind in early elementary math skills, they will remain behind in math the rest of their student career.
