You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment. Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations. Have fun!

Wissahickon Hermits
For any trail runners out there who have been wondering about the hermit cave off of the Forbidden Drive: Johannes Kelpias started the society of the Woman of the Wilderness in 1694. The society built a 40ft by 40ft structure and studied herbal medicine while it waited for its messiah, the Virgin of the Wilderness. Kelpias died in 1708 and the society moved out to Efreda after the messiah failed to arrive. Only the cave remains (source: a long winded Temple film professor who offered every detail of the information unsolicited when I mentioned running on the Forbidden Drive). |
