Philly Runners Message Board

Welcome to our Philly Runners forum. This message board is provided for running-related discussion in the Philadelphia area and around the world.  Philly Runners was founded March 27, 2002.  You are welcome to start your own topics and reply to others.

You don't need to post only running-related items, but commercial interests don't have a business being on here (unless you're trying to sell your used treadmill, for example). We don't have "rules" but will try to use our best good-faith judgment. Some posts will be deleted after a while due to space limitations.  Have fun!

Apartment Help?

I am moving to Philladelphia in August. I am a post-collegient runner (and definatly want to be in on running with this group!). I was wondering if any of y'all could give me some advice about where to rent a two bedroom apartment?

I will be going to school at Drexel University and will not have a car. Are there safe/nice/fairly inexpensive apartments that are located within walking/biking distance of the University?

Re: Apartment Help?

Check out the Brewerytown section of the city.
Girard and 29th. It's pretty affordable, and you can bike the Riverwalk to
Drexel and Penn.
Also look into the section of the city called Powelton.

If you are more of an elite runner,
I'd recommend you checking out the
Philadelphia Track Club.

Good luck.

Re: Apartment Help?

NTP-

I'm not endorsing my complex, it's got it's pros and cons, but I have what I consider to be a reasonably priced 2 bed room apt. at 23rd & Green. It's in Fairmount. Great proximity to the Art Museum and running, and even though you won't need it, it comes with a parking spot (which you can rent out).

Parkway Village Apts. I don't have their number off hand, but send me an e-mail and I'll give you the number.

Good luck,
Ben

Re: Apartment Help?

Hi new to philly - I'm also new to Philly and will be looking to rent a room in a house/apt around September. Are you looking for a housemate?
